How to use them
Print it, staple the corner, and put it in the seat pocket before the safety demo — not after somebody has already started kicking the seat in front. Start with the boarding pass and the luggage tag at home, before you even leave: kids who have a job on a plane behave better on a plane. Save the gate checklist for the wait at the airport, the window I-spy for takeoff, and the two-player games for the middle hour when everyone has run out of patience. The journal page is for the flight home, while they still remember.
What this builds
The honest answer is that its main job is regulation, not academics: it gives a kid something to do with their hands in a seat they can't leave, which is a genuinely hard ask for a five-year-old. Underneath that there's real work — the maze and dot-to-dot build pencil control, the word search builds letter scanning, and the journal page is some of the easiest writing practice you'll ever get out of a child, because they actually have something to write about.

- Will these work on a tray table?
- That's what they were designed around. Every page is US Letter portrait and works flat with a single pencil, including when the seat in front is reclined.
- Is there anything my kid can drop or lose?
- No. No stickers, no cut-outs you need during the flight, no markers that leak at altitude. The one thing to cut is the luggage tag, and that gets done at home.
- What age is this pack for?
- Roughly 4 to 10. The I-spy, cloud pages and drawing frames work from about four; the word search, maze and would-you-rather questions land better from six or seven.
- What should I do with the hour before boarding?
- Use the gate checklist — it's a twenty-item I-spy for the terminal. The wait at the gate is usually harder than the flight, and it's the part people forget to plan for.
- Do I need to print it in color?
- No. The whole pack is black and white on purpose, so it prints on any home printer without eating a color cartridge on the way out of the door.
